Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve

I've lived only 15 minutes from Hamilton Pool for over 5 years now and I just made it out there for the first time.

I wish I had been there sooner.  When some of my family came in to visit from out of town, we decided to go to Hamilton Pool since it was close and the kids wanted to go swimming.  After a short drive and short hike, we came upon a beautiful little swimming hole underneath a pretty good sized rock overhang.  The only problem is that it is still March and the water was still cold, but the kids enjoyed it anyhow.

I highly recommend it if you're in Austin and you'd like to take a short day trip and swim.  You can find more information online at the Travis County Parks website.
